Bisate Lodge is an award winning eco lodge mainly hosting gorilla tracking visitors. It has six sublime en-suite forest villas, designed as homage to Rwandan royalty; overlook unforgettable vistas over brooding Bisoke, Karisimbi and Mikeno volcanoes. A wine cellar, library, spa, restaurant, and tree nursery, woven through with warm hospitality complete this natural wonder.
Bisate’s vegetable garden is an ecosystem intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient. Our menu comprises seasonal ingredients for freshness, the majority of which are from our own garden. We also support the communities already growing crops, and source our red-skinned and wonderfully starchy potatoes, as well as our eggs, organic and free range, from our neighbours.
Bisate’s Kwanda is a day lounge, the first of its kind in Rwanda. Located in Bisate’s organic vegetable garden, it’s the perfect space in which to gather yourself before your next adventure. Shower after a last trek, wander around the gardens, enjoy a healthy meal, or a soothing massage.
The guest accommodation at Wilderness Bisate Lodge looks every inch as elegant as the main building. The materials are the same and the style is similar, with just two domes in place of three. Inside, one dome houses the bedroom and the other contains the en-suite bathroom. Each bedroom includes a double bed, bedside tables and lighting, a desk and chair, a separate seating area, and a private veranda with sweeping vistas over the park.
Every en-suite bathroom is a real treat, featuring flush toilet, twin washbasins below twin mirrors, a walk-in shower, and in the centre of the space a big bathtub too. There is ample storage space and a great range of towels as well as a couple of bathrobes, inviting you to wind down following a day out in the park!
